1 tablespoon vegetable oil
4 green onions
2 cloves garlic
1 ½ teaspoons fresh ginger root
¾ cup water
¾ cup granulated sugar
⅓ cup lemon juice
½ teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
Cornstarch slurry (1 tablespoon water + 1 tablespoon cornstarch)
Instructions
Preheat your oven according to package instructions for the popcorn chicken. Cook until golden brown and crispy; set aside.
In a large wok or skillet over medium heat, add vegetable oil. Once hot, sauté the white part of the green onion, garlic, ginger, and optional chili flakes for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
