  • 2⅓ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line three baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until creamy. Add oil, mixing until combined, then incorporate egg and extracts.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients until well combined.
  4. Roll dough into balls about 2 teaspoons each and coat in sugar. Place them on prepared baking sheets and flatten slightly.
  5. Bake for 9–12 minutes until edges are set. Transfer to wire racks and sprinkle with reserved sugar while warm.
