  • 1 tablespoon ancho chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon ground coriander
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 8 corn tortillas
  • 1 tub sour cream
  • 1 pack cotija cheese
  • 1 jar store-bought guacamole
  • 1 jar store-bought salsa
  • 1 jar pickled red onions
  • Chopped cilantro (for garnish)
  • Hot sauce of your choice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chop the sirloin steak into bite-sized cubes and pat dry.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine chili powder, ancho chili powder, garlic powder, ground cumin, brown sugar, onion powder, dried oregano, ground coriander, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  3. Toss steak cubes in vegetable oil and coat with spice mixture; let marinate for 5 to 10 minutes.
  4. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and sear steak for 3 to 5 minutes until browned.
  5. Assemble tacos by piling the cooked steak on warm tortillas and adding desired toppings.
