Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 chicken quarters
  • ½ apple
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • 2 inches ginger
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 stalks green onion
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp sweetener (sugar)
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • Sesame seeds (optional for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: Grate the apple and ginger, and mince the garlic in a mixing bowl. Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sweetener. Mix until well combined.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Place chicken quarters in a resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour marinade over chicken, ensuring it’s well-coated. Seal or cover and marinate for at least 15 minutes or overnight for deeper flavor.
  3. Preheat Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  4. Cook the Chicken: Remove excess marinade from chicken. Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for about 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. Serve: Once cooked through and crispy, remove from air fryer and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
