Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it stand for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add olive oil, salt, garlic powder, Italian herbs, and 2 cups of flour to the yeast mixture. Stir until combined. Gradually add remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for approximately 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the risen dough gently. Mix in mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses thoroughly. Shape into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for around 30 minutes or until golden brown on top. Allow to cool slightly before slicing.
