  • 1 large egg yolk (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ⅓ cup Dutch processed cocoa powder
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer or using a hand mixer, cream together the butter, white sugar, and light brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  2. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
  3. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder at low speed.
  4. Fold in the white chocolate chips with a spatula. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 45–60 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the sheets, spacing them apart. Bake for 10–11 minutes.
