  • 3 to 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour for glaze
  • 34 tablespoons water for glaze
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar for glaze
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup for glaze
  • 23 teaspoons milk for glaze

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar in a mixing bowl; let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix warm milk, melted butter, and vanilla in another bowl; add to the yeast mixture.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, allspice, and salt.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture; incorporate raisins and knead until smooth.
  5. Let dough rise in a greased bowl covered with a cloth until doubled (about 1 hour).
  6. Shape into 12 balls; place on a lined baking sheet and let rise again for 30 minutes.
