Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and toast pecans on a baking sheet for about 5–7 minutes until golden.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add egg and vanilla extract; mix well.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until just combined. Fold in cooled toasted pecans.
  6. Scoop dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them two inches apart. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden.
  7. Cool cookies on the baking sheet for five minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. For the glaze, melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over low heat; stir in milk or cream until smooth. Whisk in powdered sugar until desired consistency is reached.
  9. Drizzle glaze over cooled cookies and let set before serving.
