  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 slices of crusty bread (like ciabatta or sourdough)
  • 2 cups romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1/4 cup additional grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: sliced tomatoes
  • Optional: crispy Turkey Bacon

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least one hour.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Dredge the marinated chicken in the mixture.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken for about 5–7 minutes per side until golden brown.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and Parmesan cheese to make the dressing.
  5. Toast the bread slices until golden brown and spread dressing on one side of each slice.
  6. Layer romaine lettuce on two slices of bread, add crispy chicken on top, then sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese before topping with the remaining slices.
