Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with both sugars until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch. Gradually add this to the butter mixture on low speed until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Scoop dough into balls of about 2 tablespoons each and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain slightly soft. Let cool on the sheet for five minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
