  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup all purpose flour (133 g)
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped apple pieces (100 g)
  • ½ cup toasted pecan pieces (53 g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toast pecans in a small pan over medium heat for about 3–5 minutes until fragrant; set aside.
  3. Peel, core, and chop apples into 1/2-inch pieces.
  4. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy; mix in the egg.
  5. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon just until combined.
  6. Fold in chopped apples and toasted pecans.
  7. Pour batter into an 8×8 baking dish and bake for 30–45 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  8. Cool for 15 minutes before slicing into squares.
