  • 4 cups chicken/beef/vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 12 oz frozen wontons
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ cup neutral oil (peanut, avocado, vegetable, or canola)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
  • ¼ cup red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger (minced)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 dash rice apple vinegar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the chili oil by heating neutral oil and combining it with chili flakes, sesame seeds, minced garlic, ginger, sugar, and salt in a heat-safe bowl.
  2. In a large pot, melt coconut oil over medium heat. Sauté chopped green onions, ginger, and garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add your choice of broth and bring to a simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in frozen wontons along with soy sauce; simmer until heated through.
  5. Serve hot, topped with dark green onion tops and drizzle with homemade chili oil.
